To install a Nest Hello doorbell, first install the Nest app on your smartphone. Now connect your existing chime wires by insert both the existing chime wire and the remaining end of the wire harness into the wire connector and twist it tightly. Fix the doorbell into your mounting plate using the two doorbell screws. Attach the other white wire from the Chime Connector to the "Trans" terminal. Align the doorbell chime power connector with the doorbell chime pin.
This sets the Nest Hello apart from the Ring doorbell series (which doesn’t have a hardwired chime, although a standalone WiFi chime can be purchased and plugged into a wall socket). Well, it does, but Nest doesn’t actually sell remote chimes. wiring for a doorbell transformer and two buttons.
When I installed the Chime Connector the constant ringing stopped but now the chime wouldn't ring at all when the doorbell button was pressed. Make sure the connections are secure, then find a place to put the Chime Connector and replace the cover.
